5 Tips for *5 Star* Style Photos

Tip #1 - NO HEAD SHOTS

If you’re really looking for 4-5 star style ratings, always avoid head shots that don’t show your entire outfit or look. For example, never take a picture above your shoulders and tag items that other members can’t even see in the photos. Stand back and take a full body high quality photo.

Tip #2 - Use Great Lighting

The darker the photos, the harder your style is to see. The harder your style is to see, the lower rating it will receive. We recommend taking photos during the day, especially outdoors for maximum lighting.

Tip #3 - Don’t Post Blurry Photos

If the photo is blurry, don’t share it with the Runway. Also make sure that if you are importing photos from Facebook, don’t crop too much. If you crop a photo from Facebook, it will most likely result in a blurry style.

Tip #4 - Take Style Pics Solo

It’s always fun taking photos with friends, but too many people in a photo will distract members and make it difficult to focus on an individual style. If you really want to include a friend, try using the blur tool to blur their face or crop them out of the photo. If you know what brands they are wearing, try tagging their outfits too. Never include more than 2 people in 1 style photo.

Tip #5 - Enjoy Yourself

Don’t take the styles too seriously. Often times, smiles make photos feel more natural and members have more fun looking through them. Happy members mean happy ratings :)
